Authorities

Buyers trust tokens more when nobody can change them. Both are locked by default.

How it works

  1. 1

    Connect your wallet

Use the Safe Wallet browser extension. Make sure it is on the right network.

  2. 2

    Name your token

Pick a name and a symbol. The symbol is the short ticker people will see, like SAFE.

  3. 3

    Set decimals and supply

Decimals decide how small a piece of your token can be. The whole supply goes to you.

  4. 4

    Add an image and description

Both are optional. The image shows up in wallets and on the explorer.

  5. 5

    Choose what stays locked

By default nobody can mint more or change the token details. You can keep either authority if you need it.

  6. 6

    Review the simulation

We run your transaction on the network without sending it and show you exactly what it will do.

  7. 7

    Sign in your wallet

Your wallet publishes the token. It takes a few seconds.

Questions

Is it safe?+

Your keys never leave your wallet. This site builds one transaction, simulates it, and checks that it only creates your token and pays the listed fee. If anything else shows up, it refuses to ask you to sign. Every token runs the same small, public template.

What can the transaction do?+

Three things. It publishes your token, makes its code impossible to change, and pays the creation fee if there is one. It cannot move any of your other coins or objects.

How long does it take?+

Usually a few seconds after you sign. The token is in your wallet as soon as the transaction is confirmed.

What does it cost?+

100 SAFE plus a small network gas fee. Keeping the mint authority costs 150 SAFE more. You see the exact total before you sign.

What does locking the mint authority mean?+

The supply you choose is the only supply there will ever be. Nobody, including you, can mint more. Buyers usually look for this.

Can I change my token later?+

Only if you kept the metadata editable. Then you can change the name, symbol, description and image. The supply rules and code never change.

Which wallets work?+

Safe Wallet, the browser extension for Chrome and Firefox. Other wallets appear if they support the SafeCoin network.
